Thank you for visiting this website
where
you may learn what Jesus said
and did vis-a-vis taxes and tax collectors. The principal
resource here is a book-length essay entitled,
Jesus of Nazareth, Illegal-Tax Protester, by Ned
Netterville and others. You are cordially invited to
download and print or read the essay on your computer
screen in its Adobe's "pdf" format. In return for your
effort you will surely be rewarded with a deeper
understanding of the flawless character of a man
who always spoke the truth regardless of the
consequences.
Jesus of Nazareth, Illegal-Tax
Protester, does not purport to be the work of bible
scholars. Rather, it is the result of twenty years of
research, writing, prayer and reflection by Ned
Netterville, who is an unlicensed disciple of Jesus,
with invaluable contributions from many others. It is,
however, the first and only in-depth study, scholarly or
otherwise, of how and why Jesus viewed taxes in light of
his own statements and actions. Its conclusions challenge
orthodox misinterpretations of Jesus' words and deeds on
the subject. Its hypotheses are copiously supported in
Scripture and by other authoritative sources.
The essay is a work in progress. It is currently
being continuously revised to
reflect worthy additions, deletions or changes suggested
by people like you as we receive them. In its final
form, its many contributors will
have created the quintessential commentary on a compelling facet
of Jesus' life, death and teachings. And they
will have discredited some scholarly but seriously flawed
interpretations of the Gospels, which demean Jesus' character,
often making him sound more like a politician than
Messiah and Savior.
